This page is dedicated to all of the people who work tirelessly to help get these dogs off the streets and into a loving, forever home – as well as to those people who provide loving homes for our dogs. It takes a tremendous amount of effort and an entire team of people in three countries to save these dogs and see them get the second chance they deserve. Each of these dogs has a story to tell. We may not know the whole story – but its the ending that counts. Click on the dog’s photo to see the story.

If you’ve adopted a Baja Dog from us and would like to feature it here, please write us at Adoptions@bajddogslapaz.org. Be sure to include some photos!

Candy - now Nala
Candy - Now Nala

After being rescued from the streets and fostered, Candy - now Nala - was adopted to a Seattle area family. The best part is that this family has adopted from us before so we knew them and their dogs. We knew Candy would find ultimate happiness in her new home and would be cherished for the rest of her life. Click on her photo (left) to see her story in pictures.

Esferita - now Stella
Esferita - now Stella

Esferita means little sphere - and is a word used to describe the Christmas balls that one hangs on a tree here in Mexico. Esferita was given her name because she was rescued at Christmastime. Being adopted by a loving family is the best gift we could wish for her. She is now named Stella and gets to play at an off leash dog park with her 4-legged big brother who is showing her how to be a good Canadian! She lives in the Calgary area and her new family says their home is now complete with her in it. Click on the photo to see Esferita's story in pictures.

Chewbacca
Chewbacca

Little Chewbacca was living at the beach near La Paz. A few volunteers picked her up to have her dewormed, vaccinated, and sterilized. The plan was to find a foster home for her and put her up for adoption. One of the people who works at the vet offered to foster her. We were elated because we didn't know where she could go. But then, in a few days, her foster mom couldn't give her up and decided to keep her. Chewbacca was a temporary name since she looked like the Star Wars character but it stuck. She's Chewie for short and loved forever!!

Pablo
Pablo

Pablo was rescued as a starving puppy but quickly recovered and captured the hearts of everyone who met him. Pablo was cleaned up and with some medicated baths, his beautiful reddish coat filled in. Pablo won the lottery when he found his forever home! Click on the photo to see Pablo's story in pictures.

Rey
Rey - Happily Ever After

Rey was found in a garbage bag and in horrible condition. We limit the photos here of his rough beginning because that is completely in the past now. Rey was rehabilitated and cared for so that he became a beautiful, sweet dog. He was adopted into a perfect family and he is now excelling as a well-trained dog with a beautiful life and future. Thanks to everyone who helped in Rey's remarkable journey from then until now.

Loba
Loba - Happily Ever After

Loba was rescued from the streets of La Paz and fostered in a very loving home. As a Siberian Husky mix, the heat in La Paz was uncomfortable for her and as much as her foster family wanted to keep her, the unselfish decision was made to send her to a home and climate where she could flourish. And flourish she does!!!!

Amiga
Amiga - Now Ronnie

Amiga, now Ronnie, was born in a garden spot when her pregnant, stray, mother found a soft spot and dug a small hole to give birth. She was rescued as a puppy and spent time in foster care in La Paz and in Seattle where she was adopted. She has a great life now and will never know what it is to live as a stray dog on the streets of La Paz. So wonderful!!!!

Noche
Noche - Happily Ever After

Noche's mother was living on the streets and when she was ready to give birth, she dug a hole in a garden for her puppies. They were found and she was rescued. The puppies were all adopted to the Pacific Northwest. This includes Noche - his story in pictures.
