I’m Samson! Let me tell you about myself!

If you want a great family dog that is mellow, easy going, and relaxed – then look no further!! My confident personality along with my easy going nature makes me a great family pet.

I am in a great foster home now where I am being trained and socialized with humans, other animals, and even the family cat!! The people who rescued me think I might be a Pit Bull mix and so they are taking a lot of time to keep me very social and to train my properly.

I will probably be a large dog when fully grown and true to my breed, muscular. But the good news is that I am a mix and that tempers my prey drive. I am also quite friendly, sociable, and love to be cuddled and held. One day I will be too big for that – but it gives you an idea of my temperament.

My bark is very deep and the first time you hear it you will know!

When I am taken out and about, I am well behaved and friendly. I even went to a restaurant with my foster family where I was around lots of other people eating and I was a very good boy.

One thing that will be very important – because I am still a puppy and will be a large dog as an adult – is ongoing training. All of the Baja Dogs volunteers will tell you how important training is – but with larger dogs like me, it is even more important. I very much want to please and I am very smart. So I enjoy training!!

A little history about me: I was found at their gate and they took me in after asking around to see if I belonged to anyone in the neighborhood. They think I was probably abandoned there – so they took me in and are my foster family until a good forever home comes along.

Take a look at my photos and me with the cat!! I think I am a pretty cute, loveable guy!
