Message to the La Paz Community
27-Aug-2021Baja Dogs La Paz is amplifying their focus on sterilizations here in La Paz and BCS. Earlier this year they launched a program where members of the public who could not afford to pay for sterilization could receive a voucher and take their dog to a licenced veterinarian to have their dog sterilized for free. To date more that 200 dogs have been sterilized in the program.
Baja Dogs La Paz is happy to announce that their program has been extended and under the leadership of Linda DiMeglio the program is underway today. For more details check out this link: https://bajadogslapaz.org/donate/sterilization-campaign/
This couldn’t have come at a better time with the announcement of the State-wide effort to have all street dogs sterilized to control the over-population problem in La Paz and other communities in BCS.
On the flip side of that problem is the fact that there are an estimated 50,000 stray and abandoned dogs in La Paz alone. You just need to check out some of the Facebook sites dedicated to finding homes for strays to see the huge problem.
Amigos de 4 Patas A.C., or in English Hope 4 La Pawz, is the organization that has been conducting the rescue and adoption program under the Baja Dogs La Paz banner for more than 5 years. During that time more than 500 dogs have been adopted through our program and are living their best life with their new families. The model that we have used, having dogs sheltered with their rescuer works well and is a model that has been sought after by many rescue groups in Baja.
Amigos de 4 Patas / Hope 4 La Pawz may not be a household name right now, but you can be sure you will be seeing more of us as we launch our new website Hope4LaPawz.org. Until then, you can visit and like our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Hope4LaPawz.in.La.Paz/ ) where we will not only advertise our dogs for adoption, advertise upcoming events, and offer relevant information on responsible pet ownership, but we will also be an active voice in the fight against animal abuse.
Baja Dogs La Paz continues to support rescue and adoptions efforts here in La Paz and together with Amigos de 4 Patas we all aim to make a difference in the lives of the animals in La Paz.
