On May 29, 2021 Baja Dogs La Paz and FANLAP (Fundación Ayuda Niños La Paz) held a sterilization (spay/neuter) campaign for the dogs in the outlying community of Laguna Azul.

If you are looking for a cause where your donation will make an immediate difference, look no further. Our campaigns directly support underserved families with vital complimentary vet care services that have a direct impact on the health and wellness of their pets. For example, a single $25 sterilization surgery prevents up to 67,000 unwanted dogs over multiple generations. Baja Dogs La Paz is a 100% volunteer organization, so all donations are used to fund our campaigns.
Preventive care such as sterilization, vaccinations and flea/tick control are just a few of the ways we support La Paz’s local pet owners. Without basic preventive care, beloved family pets can quickly become sick and spread disease to other pets in the community. Our campaigns help local La Paz families learn about and access basic preventive care so they can keep their pets safe, healthy and happy.
Baja Dogs La Paz distributes complimentary service vouchers to pet owners in underserved communities throughout La Paz. The owner then makes an appointment with one of our veterinary partners, and the voucher is redeemed at the time of service. The service is free to the redeemer, and the vets are paid by Baja Dogs. We also organize local sterilization campaigns in communities. On campaign day, our vets come to a central location to provide on-site sterilization and post-operative medicine to pet owners.

Here in Mexico, the term "esterilización" or sterilization is used to describe both spay and neuter and so the clinics are called Sterilization Clinics. On May 9, 2021, one of our volunteers used her own home to hold such a clinic.
