Adoption System and Supporting Programs
We at Baja Dogs La Paz are an organization of volunteers who rescue dogs, foster them in our own homes, and help others to do the same thing. We developed an adoption system that includes food, vaccines, deworming, and sterilization while dogs are fostered and we are looking for their adoptive home. If you have rescued a dog, and would like to join Baja Dogs La Paz as a volunteer to help get your rescue dog adopted, please read on. If you are looking to deposit a dog you found somewhere, report a dog that needs to be picked up, report a case of animal abuse or neglect, then you must contact the appropriate authorities. We are an all volunteer group which means we do not have the equipment, training, resources, or staff to handle, and more importantly, authority to perform the function of a government municipal shelter. What we can do is help people who rescue and foster dogs in their own home.
To get started, you should have already read the Rescue Guidelines page before you picked up a dog and you already took your dog to a vet. Ask the vet to provide you with a letter that explains the health of your dog as you will need to submit that with the Intake Form. If you or your vet are not sure what to provide, here is a sample:
As soon as we have room in our program, you will be contacted by an intake coordinator for a home visit to help you ensure your home is adequately secured for the dog, meet your rescued dog and any other dogs you have in the home, and to answer any questions you have. You will be asked to sign a Commitment Letter at that time as well.
Select the intake form below in the language of your choice to get started.
